Fall 2013, Week 5

** VSU – Weekly Member Newsletter – Fall, Week 5————————————————————

** VSU Will Be Full of Treats This Week!

** And we’ll throw in a couple of tricks while we’re at it.
VSU General Meeting: Halloween
Time: 6:00 pm -7:45 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Location: Kerckhoff State Rooms (131)

It’ll be Week 5 soon. Scary, isn’t it? Midterms, essays? Don’t worry, spending some time with VSU will help scare it all away. Not for good, but at least for 2 hours this coming Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 6:00 pm at the Kerckhoff State Rooms! All of us will be decked out in Halloween costumes, so come in with an elaborate or scary costume and you, too, can participate in VSU’s costume contest! It’ll be quite the treat. OR, if you’re daring, be a brave individual and come in without a costume. There may or may not be a surprise in store for you!

VSU Goes Trick-or-treating in Bel-Air!

Time: 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2013
Location: Meet @ De Neve Plaza

It’s that time of the year again, where young adults like us can relive our childhood memories. Join VSU as we tour through scenic Bel-Air, picking up a few treats along the way. Have some fun with your VSU family and get some sweet loot to boot. We’ll be back by 8:00pm, so if you’ve got other plans for later on that night, you can have your cake and eat it, too! So, get your costume ready and prepare to have some major fun! Oh, and get your friends to go with us, too! The more, the merrier, we always say!

HOPE Internship applications are out!!

If you’re interested in working with youth, building your leadership skills, and building those lifetime bonds with others, HOPE Internship is perfect for you! The focus of this internship is higher education and access to higher education. This internship program will enable interns to critically think about issues in higher education, as well as topics on identity and history/herstory. Interns will engage in deep dialogue around these issues, prompting them to think about their personal experiences in relation to the topics discussed. Through HOPE Internship, interns will be prepared to take on more leadership roles within and outside the HOPE space.
