The Vietnamese Student Union (VSU), established in 1977, is the official voice of all Vietnamese students at UCLA through its advocacy for the cultural, educational, political, and social welfare of the Vietnamese community at large.
“In light of the current political tension, socioeconomic inequities, and divisive rhetoric, the Vietnamese Student Union (VSU) at UCLA strives to empower the underrepresented individuals of the Vietnamese community and stand in solidarity with communities of color and minority groups. We aim to cultivate an inclusive and safe environment for all by leading calls to action against injustice and collaborating with marginalized communities. Through our programs and projects, we will equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to advocate for themselves and their communities on and off campus. By reflecting on our families’ refugee and immigrant experiences, we will continue to share and preserve the Vietnamese culture and history while shaping our own unique narratives.”
We hold general meetings every Wednesday at 6pm! The location varies, so keep up with us on Facebook to find out more.
