HOPE Kick-Off is our annual tradition to introduce students to our project and all the services we offer. Students will have the opportunity to bond with high school students from the other sites we service as well as with our UCLA staff members and volunteers! This one-day event is a huge social event filled with fun, activities, games, and friendly competition to better understand ourselves and connect with our community.
We are currently looking for volunteers and chaperones to help out with our kickoff on Saturday, September 10, 2016 on the UCLA campus from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. If you’re interested in having fun with high school students, informing them about the college process, and meeting fellow UCLA volunteers and students, this is the event for you!
For those not in the UCLA area, we are also looking for chaperones who will ride with the students. Pickup and drop off will be at Westminster and San Gabriel area. We will be transporting students by bus from Westminster High School and San Gabriel High School to UCLA and back. Buses will be leaving from Westminster at 8 A.M., and from San Gabriel at 9 A.M. The expected time back to each high school is around 6-7 P.M.
There will be FREE FOOD provided for all volunteers and chaperones!
