Internship

VSU INTERNSHIP APPLICATION 2011-2012

“Everyday Superheroes”

Heroes that band together form a family!  The VSU Internship program is a yearlong commitment for the 2011-2012 academic school year, intended to provide an opportunity for students to progress in the ways in which they think about themselves and their community. The program will highlight the historical context of the Vietnamese community in Vietnam and America, as well as current issues that affect us culturally, educationally, politically, and socially. You will develop an understanding of your identity and heritage, as well as have many opportunities to put words into action and foster leadership skills through coordinating programs and working together. The program will also explore VSU as a whole, giving interns the opportunity to network, collaborate, and learn about not only the UCLA community but also the greater Vietnamese community at large. The theme for internship this year is “Everyday Superheroes,” which is intended to demonstrate how ordinary individuals can be super heroes.

A family of heroes spending time together discovers their powers!  A 4-5 hour per week commitment will be expected of interns to attend internship meetings, and fulfill the requirements and responsibilities of the program.

Heroes have a special signal to contact each other!  A selection process will occur during Week 4. A staff member will contact you for an interview time during Week 4. An intern position is not guaranteed to all those who are interviewed. Internship meetings will begin Week 5 and continue weekly throughout the remainder of the year. Meeting times will be determined once the selection process is completed.
