2017 Board Election Results Round 3

Dear Members of the Vietnamese Student Union,

Thank you all for participating in the 2017 Vietnamese Student Union Elections (Part 3). To assure validity, the votes were counted and monitored by a UCLA full-time employee and Community Programs Office (CPO) Internship Director, Rohit Maharaj, on June 5th, 2017 at 6:30 pm. In order to be elected, contested positions require a candidate to receive a higher number of confidence votes than the opposing candidate. In order for uncontested positions to be elected, candidates must receive a confidence vote of at least 50%. The results are as follows.

Confidence: 15 = 28.8% – NOT ELECTED

Education Coordinator

Confidence: 28 = 49.1% – NOT ELECTED

Linh Tran
Confidence: 29 = 50.9% – ELECTED

Intercollegiate Council Coordinator

Cathy Vu
Confidence: 42, No Confidence: 11 = 79.2% – ELECTED

Political Advocacy Coordinator

Steven Duong
Confidence: 39 = 73.6% – ELECTED

Joseph Nguyen
Confidence: 14 = 26.4% – NOT ELECTED

Congratulations to those elected! Candidates have one week to formally accept. Elected candidates will receive a follow-up notice from the current President. If any position is not accepted, positions will be reopened for appointment.
