We are seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student who is familiar with or willing to learn more about Southeast Asian community conditions and their impact on the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of Southeast Asians in higher education. The Wellness Coordinator will have the unique opportunity to design a holistic wellness program for Southeast Asian students at UCLA as well as work closely with on and off-campus stakeholders who play a role in student wellness.
This is a rare opportunity to create and spearhead a culturally specific program that promotes retention through wellness and raises awareness about campus issues that revolve around student health. This position is ideal for students interested in gaining more experience in public health, community health, Asian American communities, and higher education.
We are seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student who is familiar with or willing to learn more about Southeast Asian community conditions and their impact on the academic success, general well-being, and retention of Southeast Asians in higher education. Through one-on-one counseling sessions, Peer Counselors will have the unique opportunity to become a resource and adviser for Southeast Asian students at UCLA who seek guidance about academic counseling, career aspirations, and campus resources. As mentors, Peer Counselors help facilitate the holistic growth of each individual counselee and promote retention by empowering students to take ownership of their education.
